SIX MONTH TEMP HR COORDINATOR
Seeking a dynamic junior level, HR Coordinator with a basic foundation in the human resources field to partner with the Pearson Education – North America Content Management HR team in Upper Saddle River, NJ.

Under the leadership of the PE North America HR management team, the HR Coordinator will focus on process improvement and standardization of practices for the North America HR team across multiple locations and facilities.  This position will also provide recruitment support for open positions across the PE North America business units.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.50% Process Documentation and Communication—Obtain current requirements, review existing practices and create standard HR process and documentation for practices, policies and document for use in multiple locations and businesses across USHE Production and PE North America Rights and reviews Permissions, PE North America Content Management Services and PE North America Sourcing and Strategy.  Utilize current internal social networking site to build/create updated HR resource site for all supported business management – “one stop shopping” for general HR process and procedures.

–Areas of focus to include all HR related activities and actions within the supported divisions including new hires/on-boarding, terminations/exit interviews, promotions, transfers, position requisitions, posting jobs, communications, compensation approvals, policy changes, performance reviews, Mobile work arrangements, tele-work arrangements, tuition assistance, training etc

 

2.40% Staffing & Recruiting– Work closely with HR team and Staffing Manager to administratively support the staffing needs for general positions and temporary positions by identification of and effective use of internal and external resources.
— The task includes ensuring the positions are approved for posting, hiring, ensuring the job descriptions are accurate and up to date, reviewing resumes, phone screenings, setting up interviews, performing all employment-related communications, and preparing offer letters.

–Keeping accurate reports and track of current open positions and headcount for all supported divisions and/or business units.

3.10% Administrative.
Provide administrative support as needed to the HR team.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1-2 experience in a Human Resources environment or equivalent education and experience to perform the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Windows applications, internet, and data-base management,
  • Experience with both Mac and PC systems
  • Experience with social networking tools and systems
  • Demonstrated proactive – self starter.
  • Demonstrated ability to do independent research and information gathering
  • Basic knowledge of HR core areas, employee relations, compliance(Fed/State) affirmative action, workers compensation etc
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in a manner which encourages an open and positive exchange of information.
  • Requires ability to employ tact and diplomacy when dealing with employees in confidential matters.
  • Requires willingness to take ownership and accept responsibility for actions and decisions
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work successfully with all employee and managerial levels.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Ability to travel less than 5% required – but with the potential to increase if necessary
  • Willingness to continually to seek to improve effectiveness and efficiency within the department and ambition to learn and grow.
