MANAGING PARTNER, THE PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVE

THE BOSTON FOUNDATION
Boston, Massachusetts

The Philanthropic Initiative (TPI), a premier strategic philanthropy consulting group, seeks a Managing Partner to maximize the potential of TPI and lead TPI to new levels of success and impact in the field of strategic philanthropy. This is an extraordinary opportunity to create new value in the philanthropic marketplace and increase the ability of donors to engage in high-impact philanthropic strategies.

In January 2012, The Philanthropic Initiative joined The Boston Foundation (TBF), bringing together two leading philanthropic organizations in a first-of-its-kind partnership. TPI will continue to offer fee-for-service philanthropic advice and support to high net worth individuals, families, foundations, and corporations throughout the United States and globally, and will continue its thought leadership on philanthropy, meaningful impact, and effective giving. The Managing Partner will be expected to build on the brands, client bases, and talent of both organizations to ensure that TPI continues to grow its impact across the nation and beyond.

Candidates should bring a deep belief in the importance of philanthropy as a tool for change, and the drive and motivation to lead the transformation of TPI into a stronger industry contributor outside of and within The Boston Foundation platform. Excellent strategic and intellectual abilities, strong presentation and business development skills, managerial skills, entrepreneurial drive and creative vision are all essential for this role. The successful candidate is expected to continue to effectively integrate TPI into the TBF organization in a way that preserves what is unique to TPI while generating the synergies of an integrated and cohesive organization.
