In this role, you’ll handle press for the entire property, including its 12 restaurants and lounges; two nightlife venues; spa; and three retail outlets. You’ll create media materials, handle on-site media visits and develop and execute PR strategy. You’ll also team up with outside public relations agencies and a social media firm to ensure the quality, consistency and accuracy of messaging.

To be considered, you should have at least three to five years of public relations experience. Those with hospitality PR experience and knowledge of lifestyle media are most wanted. If you can speak Spanish, even better. Interested?

The role of the Public Relations Manager is the equivalent of an agency account executive position, whose sole client is the revered Miami Beach landmark Fontainebleau. The scope of work includes travel press for the 1500 room, 22 acre property, as well as 12 restaurants and lounges, most notably Gotham Steak, ScarpettaTM and Hakkasan; two dynamic nightlife venues, including LIV and Arkadia; the 40,000-square-foot Lapis Spa; and three distinguished retail outlets.

The primary responsibilities are the following: assembling media materials, on-site media visits and the tactical execution of the public relations plan. The position reports to the Director of Public Relations and works with various public relations agencies, a social media firm and other resources to generate significant media coverage for the property, while effectively telling the Fontainebleau story.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (includes but is not limited to):
Draft and service pitch letters, press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, bios
Work with public relations agencies to create and disseminate media kit materials
Assist in the review and proofreading of all public relations materials and overall marketing department materials to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality of work
Proactively pitch alongside the agencies targeted media outlets, including broadcast, print and new media
Interact daily with various hotel departments to update, report on and discuss current media initiatives
Manage daily public relations activities, such as agendas, recaps, activity reports, media monitoring and coordination of all necessary materials for various initiatives
Execute onsite and media outreach events, including various concerts, special events and venue openings
Assist in the research, writing and development of new resort-wide initiatives
Creatively brainstorm to develop strategic ideas and partnerships
Work collaboratively with various departments to develop and implement public relations plans
Respond in a timely and professional manner to incoming media requests
Coordinate site visits for journalists including pre planning, on-site tours, and building itineraries to effectively direct media visits in a manner consistent with topline objectives
Work with various departments resort-wide to coordinate and supervise photo shoots and film production on property
Execute tactical components of the public relations plan including travel, consumer, leisure, lifestyle, spa, retail, food and beverage, hospitality trade and general b2b initiatives
Infuse social media strategies into day-to-day public relations efforts
Supervise Public Relations Coordinator in partnership with the Director of Public Relations to ensure media files are up to date, including photo gallery, clippings, media lists
Manage daily intern responsibilities

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skill and abilities):
Excellent writing and communication skills with proven ability to create press releases
Strong experience leveraging the social media landscape
Proven ability to handle multiple initiatives and tasks simultaneously in a high-paced work environment
Well-organized, resourceful and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills
Possesses both creative and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations, English or business

Minimum of 3-5 years experience in public relations
Hospitality public relations experience preferred
Knowledge of lifestyle media preferred
Spanish language communications skills preferred but not required
