We are an established FASHION ACCESSORIES wholesaler, with corporate offices in New York and a back office location in Edison, New Jersey.  Our company imports products from overseas and sells across the globe to major retailers.  To help facilitate our recent expansion, the company is seeking a qualified FINANCIAL ANALYST, who understands operations and can support management’s need for analytical financial analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will be a self starter with a strong background in finance, systems and operations.

The FA will be responsible for evaluating, implementing and managing internal systems and procedures to assure that the financial goals of the company are being met. Responsibilities include: 

Financial

  • Develop and update operating budgets by division.
  • Create monthly balance sheet, income statement and cash flow projections, calculating borrowing needs and loan covenant compliance.
  • Analyze sales and gross profit by division, sales rep, product category and other key attributes, comparing actual to projected results.
  • Monitor operating expenses and investigate variances.
  • Assist in monthly accounting close and financial reporting.
  • Evaluate sales dilution by account to increase accounts receivable collections.
  • Track purchasing needs to improve inventory control.
  • Provide forward looking insight and monthly trend analysis for improved decision making.

Systems:

  • Recommend and design computer software enhancements.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of computer training for employees.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
  • Interact with software developers for bug fixes and feature enhancements.

               Requirements:      

  • 5 – 8 years experience in wholesale company or public accounting, with responsibilities across multiple analysis areas.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite/Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Comfortable with computer technology and software tools.
  • Highly effective analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Ability to function independently as well as in a team.
